Program Summary:

The EmeraldPlanet program for April 25th will share valuable insights to our world-wide viewers on the importance of the role of women in key decision making positions in both the private sectors and non-governmental organizations (NGO) for economic, environmental, and civil society development in emerging market nations.  Our two guests have proven track records of hard work, consistent and persistent effort, and dedication to reaching all levels of different societies in Africa, the Americas, Asia, and the Caribbean.

Courtney Ashley Vaughan is the Principal Director of the Courtney Vaughan Group (GulfLady) focusing on large-scale infrastructure development in the gulf states of West Africa and the Middle East.  This program will take a regional focus on power sector development in Africa generally and West Africa specificallyRegional Integration - Power Pool is really driving the development dollars in this sector.  Ms. Vaughan researched, evolved, and finalized the West Africa Strategic Power Plan (WAPP): 2006 through 2011.  Actual maps and photographs of this comprehensive power planning, construction, generation, and distribution system will be shared.

The second segment will focus upon identifying the funding sources and structures will be covered.
The Courtney Vaughan Group (GulfLady) is advising private investors on developments and project opportunities to keep up with the changes in this rapidly evolving market.  The firm is most active in the transactions directly related to this comprehensive program including other infrastructure projects needed for comprehensive economic development.  Additional discussions will center upon how small-to-medium scale enterprises, research universities, and large multi-national companies will provide new jobs, local tax revenues, and cross-border trade through such large scale infrastructure projects in the the 2010 through 2014 time period.  Various power sector activities and other infrastructure projects in selected countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, and other African nations will be discussed.

Lisa Polgar is the Vice-President of the Pan American-Pan African Association (PaPa). As American history is forged upon the mutual assistance of community members, who have helped one another in acclimating to new surroundings, building fresh beginnings, and living the American Dream, the Pan-African Association continues this historic tradition of mutual aid, empowering individuals to live better lives through the strength of community.

The mission of Pan-African Association is to serve, empower, and promote the interests of all refugees and immigrants of African descent.

As you may know EmeraldPlanet is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to identifying at least 1,000 'best practices' for sustainable environmental and economic development.  Our efforts are to link those having such "best practices" with those needing the technologies, processes, services, and products to be outstanding ecological stewards of their resources.
