Panel Discussion with Dr. Sam Hancock International Action Show Summary:The
United Nations reports that more than 1.1 billion people lack access to safe
drinking water and 2.6 billion people lack sanitary facilities. Diseases caused by unsafe drinking
water and inadequate sanitation remains
the most serious public health threat around the globe. Such inadequate resources is estimated
to cause 80% of the sicknesses in developing countries and killing between two
and five million people. Such
deaths occur among young children.
As reported by officials of the United States Department of Defense the
lack of water and sanitation undermines the sustainability of local, regional,
and national governments. Such a
basic need undermines the focus upon education, economic development, nutrition,
environmental quality, and political stability.
As you may know EmeraldPlanet is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to identifying at least 1,000 'best practices' for sustainable environmental and economic development. Our efforts are to link those having such "best practices" with those needing the technologies, processes, services, and products to be outstanding ecological stewards of their resources.
Please support The Emerald Planet Television and The Emerald Trek through your generous donations of US$25, US$50, or US$100. Click the donations button to make your contributions now!
