Program Summary:
The EmeraldPlanet program for February 14th will
share valuable insights to our world-wide viewers on women in the new world
economy. The topics include education, access to jobs, legislative
support for equal opportunities, micro-lending, and how to reduce
discrimination against females in developing societies as "best
practices" to enhance the new World 'green' economy. These
topics will be provided by three outstanding women leaders. Each of
our guest have created their own international organizations to reach women who
are now a statistical majority in most societies.
With the Obama Administration facing domestic pressures and the lingering world
wide economic challenges there is the constant drum beat for jobs with a
special emphasis on 'green' jobs while addressing the consequences of violent
climate change. Even with over one [1] trillion US$
($1,000,000,000,000.00) invested by the American government in the United
States alone to support the economy and reduce the lost of jobs over 15,000,000
Americans and countless hundreds of millions overseas are jobless or working
well below their human potential. Complicating the equation is the
continued loss of employment opportunities while violent weather events
increase. Even in face for such unsettled mix of economic challenges and
severe climate change millions of women are denied the basic educational
opportunities and skills to fully contribute to their families and home
communities. These three international experts will put a personal voice
and face to the phenomena of women in education and the workplace around the
globe while addressing these same issues through their experiences in the
United States.
As you may know EmeraldPlanet is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to identifying at least 1,000 'best practices' for sustainable environmental and economic development. Our efforts are to link those having such "best practices" with those needing the technologies, processes, services, and products to be outstanding ecological stewards of their resources.
